It's been a few weeks since I've added a photo to an i {heart} faces challenge, but I just loved the theme this week. See all the beautiful entries here.
I knew as soon as I snapped this shot that it would be the favorite of the shoot. I love when I catch these unprompted moments of affection. And I love the love that obviously exists between these twin boys.
The details of our children's lives are so fleeting: the blankies they can't live without, the tiny fingers holding onto tiny toys, small feet peddling fast through puddles and years. I want to capture these details so that even long after my children have outgrown them, the memories will remain.
My son has almost outgrown this helmet, but I will always remember how he wore it to every football game that he went to, hand-in-hand, with his daddy.

The theme over at i {heart} faces this week fits perfectly with the photos I'm editing right now. I took my daughter out to the beach one afternoon for her seventh birthday photo shoot. We were in Florida on vacation...and we live in Idaho...so she was mesmerized by the ocean! I couldn't get her to hold still; all she wanted to to do was run to the water, along the shore, chasing birds, and take in all the beauty. Definitely an innocent wonder for a girl from a cold, landlocked state.
I haven't entered a photo in an i {heart} faces photo challenge before, but have been following their blog for a long time. When I read this week's theme, the following photo immediately came to mind. It says everything to me about the beauty of motherhood.
