one year cake smash {idaho falls baby photographer}

It's always hilarious to watch a baby attack a birthday cake.  Paden was all business, and I'm quite sure no chocolate was wasted!  So cute.

Whether it's a fun cake smash session in my studio, or an on location shoot, I love photographing this age.  Is your baby turning one soon?  Let's chat!

laclare {idaho falls family photographer}

Today I thought I'd post some of the images from a mini session I did right before Christmas.  I loved our location!  The light was so great, and that wall is fab.  I only scheduled two families this time, but I think I might make this an annual Christmas mini event.  I'll keep you posted on that.

As we stepped outside to head to our cars, I made everyone stop and take a quick snap on the sidewalk.  I'm so glad I did because it turned out to be Mom's favorite!  She ordered a 20x24 that is now in her entryway.  It makes me happy every time I see it.

the owl queen

The slower winter months give me time to catch up on some personal projects, and this is one that is been in the works for many months. My daughter wanted to do a photo shoot with me, and at first I thought we'd just do a typical portrait shoot. Then I started thinking about incorporating some of the things she loves, which right now is owls and reading. As we talked about it, it evolved into something so much more personal and creative for both of us.

 This girl of mine is brilliant. She's smart, yes, but what I mean is that she just shines. She has had some struggles in her short life, but she is so full of spunk and personality, imagination and bravery. I wanted all that to show through in this session.

 So we thought up a story. It's simple enough: she falls asleep and becomes an owl, then with her sidekick "Twilight," flies off to find the owl queen, who gives her a gift. When she awakes, she is delighted to see that she has brought some things back from her dreamland.

 I can't wait for the printed book to arrive so that she can always have it to remember this time in her life.  And I can't wait for the projects she and I will imagine in the future!  I'm so grateful for my little muses.

 Enjoy!

browns {idaho falls family photographer}

It really doesn't take much for me to be happy at the end of a shoot {I'm low-maintenance like that}:  a meeting of yellow trees and hazy light, an abundance of natural smiles, and, of course, a giggly-sweet girl and her goofy-handsome brother.

These images simply make me happy.

three friends {idaho falls senior photographer}

These three friends wanted to do a photo shoot, just for fun.  One's a Senior and the other two are Juniors this year.  We had so much fun, and I really liked this format.  Having your friends with you makes everything better, right!?  Maybe every Senior client should bring along her best friends!

Wow, my job was easy with these three.  Gorgeous, gorgeous girls.
