I think it's time to celebrate my official business launch.  After a year plus of portfolio-building, and many many hours spent learning and working on the business side of photography, I am ready to jump in with both feet.  Yay!   With a new blog look, a new logo, a website, and {most importantly, heehee} permission from the great state of Idaho and the IRS, I'm ready to call myself a photographer.

Of all the photos I took in February, this one in front of our chalkboard is still my favorite.  Love my little angel.

what to wear {march}

People are often afraid to wear patterns in their portraits, but when done right patterns can add a lot of interest and color.  I love these combinations:  one bold pattern, complimented by a few more subtle ones and coordinated colors pulled from the bold pattern. So don't run from patterns!  They can help you achieve the fabulous, cohesive look you want.

i {heart} faces: anything but a face

The details of our children's lives are so fleeting:  the blankies they can't live without, the tiny fingers holding onto tiny toys, small feet peddling fast through puddles and years.  I want to capture these details so that even long after my children have outgrown them, the memories will remain.   


My son has almost outgrown this helmet, but I will always remember how he wore it to every football game that he went to, hand-in-hand, with his daddy.

what to wear {february}

Outfit suggestions for a family shoot this month.  Winter is a good time for cool hues and lots of textures and it's a great idea to find coordinating outfits, not matching ones.  Don't you love those little girl boots!
